Post your general thoughts and impressions regarding the UI and HUD elements in the Halo: Reach Beta.

Rants go elsewhere. Please be constructive. Or else.

KNOWN ISSUES:

-Reticle on many weapons is too light.
-Damage indicators are unnoticeable
-Active Roster does not display game progress or info for players not on Friends List

If you read this, you've wasted a few seconds of your life.

When I play splitscreen with my brother, I can't see the callouts under the radar.
this might be my TV but if it isn't, I have posted it here.

EDIT: there's another issue that I would like to bring up, when you play three or four player split-screen those playing on one of the smaller screens are having a hard time aiming because of the killfeed, it is even harder when it says "[insert gamertag] killed [insert gamertag] with a headshot, especially if they have long gamertags.

I would link a screenshot if I could..


EDIT 2: plus, you need to fix the veto system, when you come into a lobby, you choose the first alternative automatically, which means that if more than four players are doing something else when they are suppose to veto, for example, browsing files/editing spartan etc.. the first alternative will be chosen.

A good solution would be having a more noticeable notification when the veto round is starting.

Wait, what?!

Reticule for UNSC weapons needs to be abit thicker as well as changing the brightness, and for some reason Juggernaught's overhead symbols change.

I'm thinking the Active Roster should be in alphabetical order, to be honest. It's really confusing looking for, say, someone with their 'tag beginning with a B, and passing people with 'tags starting with anything from A to Z.

From what I noticed, watching Todays rendered videos on Armor Lock, it has been extremely buggy (Such as: AL will not exit, AL goes in and out of use, and AL allows you to move).
I love the AL, and believe it should be kept, as well as all the AAs.
Probably decrease a little bit of the pistol strength as it is found to be too powerful.

Well, hopefully I did this right.

Problem Encountered;

While playing on an HDtv this problem is less noticable. But when played on a standard def' tv the scoring zones in stockpile are difficult to decern.

Easy fix;
Maybe color the grey/white boundry to the color of the team that it belongs to.

Improves the effects in Halo 1 PC.& Adds actual Blood decals to Elites (Part of - not Rebuilt)

The equipment icon should turn red when low.

In Halo 3 you had an effect with the lights giveing it a look of light skimming across glass. Its a very sexy effect that also assits the visual aspect of the hud.

This is a problem. It should be obvious when to run and when to attack. A Super Flaming Shield effect... (want to say super saiyan)

Just about every thing I post is my opinion and nothing more. Be subjective. Respect other's opinions. Try to understand other's point of view.

When the game is over and you are looking at the game stats it keeps you in the party of that game. I would like to see it become where you don't stay with that party unless you were part of the party before the game. It's annoying if you are looking at the game stats and you back out just to see you are in the next game lobby with people you didn't intend on playing with it.

I think that if you weren't already part of the party you should have to choose to be part of the party before you are joined to the party.

Also, I don't know if this is the place for it but I'm not a fan of the reticule bloom at all. I would rather see weapon kick back.

No I don't have any Beta codes. Sorry :(

Callouts aren't shown in Splitscreen or when we die.

Also, weapons will overlap ammo count when you pick them up.

One time, my HUD changed colors.

What indicators? Lol.

I personally think the objective indicator for capture the flag should be on screen all the time. It took me two games to find out where to take the flag on Swordbase. Doing so would also let you keep your bearings better.

Also for stockpile, I would recommend making the hud indicator for the enemy teams capture point also match their team color. When I first started playing, I would run some of our flags to the blue (enemy) base because it was marked as red on my screen.

Under certain circumstances, enemy players with active camouflage activated still have names above their heads.

I don't know if that's working as intended, but I kind of hope not.

The automatic choosing of the first game option in the voting list needs some work, especially in Arena.

I have had times where I played Slayer on Powerhouse about 4 times straight because of players not voting.

Maybe add a noise indicating voting has started, or only count votes people manually input, or both.

After backing out of a lobby, search preferences are reset. [Player count restrictions, invite only/friends only options are reset too]

THIS SUMMER...

I feel that the fonts in all parts of the game, menus, armory, etc, as well as in game text (such as who killed who) are too hard to read. They should be slightly increased and spaced a little more, I think.

A minor discrepancy that I have noticed, and this may have even been intentional:

When zooming in with a non-scoped weapon, the HUD says "MARK VI BIOS" in the bottom left corner in the exact same fashion as it did in Halo 3. I was under the impression that these were MARK V suits.

I don't know what you guys over there call it officially, but the scrolling list of the stuff that's going on in the game that appears directly above the radar often does not display what is happening to YOU if a lot of things are going on at once. For example, if a lot of battles are happening at the same time, you might not receive a notice that you killed somebody or the notice that somebody killed you.

This is replicable in situations where you get a close call; I don't believe I've ever seen a "You killed [gamertag]" when getting a Close Call medal.

I would like to see the scrolling list prioritized so that my own actions always appear on the list, no matter what else is going on in the game.
