Post your general thoughts and impressions regarding the Armor Abilities in the Halo: Reach Beta.

Rants go elsewhere. Please be constructive. Or else.

KNOWN ISSUES:

-Armor Lock is too powerful/not powerful enough
-Active Camo causes loss of audio for all players over splitscreen

Armor Lock also causes hearing loss for other players on splitscreen, not as much as Active Camo though.

Veto for ARs!!!!

Armor Lock needs balancing. Too good in team games!

EDIT: To clarify, it basically gives one person a "get out of fail free" card, which lets the AL user's teammate clean up EASILY. I have fairly often been winning a rifle fight against someone, when he activates AL. I stick around to wait for it to stop (and get the kill I earned), and instead get cleaned up by one of his teammates that he calls in. It just feels cheap.

I've played 8 games so far and my only big problem is concerning the AA's regeneration time. I feel It's too fast. Right now I'm using it almost all the time and have no fear I'll ever run out.
Say I'm sprinting or being cloaked, I know that once the meter hits zero, I only have to wait a few seconds before it's fully recharged again. I would prefer if let's say for example, it would take 30 seconds before it regenerates. You would then have to be more intelligent using it. IMO It would add a level of strategy.

These are two of my biggest concerns but an addition would be;

Sprint is an awful replacement for Evade.

Also the Sword seems to work instantly with Evade but it's glitchy with Sprint.

Other than that, I'm happy with them.

I suggest that Evade and Sprint should be unusable when carrying a melee weapon like the sword or hammer. This will prevent players from sprinting/evading towards others quickly and getting an easy lunge. Melee weapons will be more difficult to use as a result.

The camo could have a little tweaking. The fact that it causes everyone around them to loser their radar is a little overpowered.

Here's my problem with sprint

Camo isn't camo enough and it shouldn't affect the user's radar, only the enemy's (either that or vice versa, just do something different with the radar jamming effect). They should know you are around and you should get more of a chance to surprise them.

Armor lock, evade, and jet pack are great.

EDIT: HUGE HUGE GLITCH with armor abilities

EDIT#2: Sprint doesn't last long enough.

EDIT#3: For some reason the jetpack stops working when held in for a long time. For example: if I want to reach the top bridge in sword base from the ground floor, my jetpack will all of the sudden stop causing me to rise up and I'll just float there. It usually happens about 3/4 of the way into the jet pack fuel. Also, jet packs take a little too much time to start having an effect. I'll press the AA button and my spartan will levitate for a second before I start to ascend. Not a big problem and i guess it helps with precise movements when midair and can easily be explained by the spartans weighing a lot, but it just bugs me sometimes.

A person in camo should not have red names over their heads if spotted by an enemy.

I believe that invisibility, has too long of a use time. Apart from the fact you can stop and let recharge you can easily sit there for at least a minute? I don't know the exact time, but I believe it should be reduced.

Sprinting with the flag seems like a logical step in the right direction, but it turns out you just drop the flag and run. Same with flying away. I think that, with some degree of reduction in effectiveness, AAs should be able to be used with objectives.

It's kinda controls related, but can we get a toggle armor abillities option, like toggle crouch, but for armor abillities?

Players using sprint or evade with a melee weapon seem to be able to use that melee weapon much sooner after exiting sprint or finishing their evade move than players with a gun. This may be by design, but it seems to cause some unfair advantage -- especially in Covy Slayer gametypes -- when a player with a melee weapon encounters one with a gun.

When someone on my team uses active camo, My radar is jammed,is this supposed to happen? also it jams when i use it. I just find this strange.

No I don't have any Beta codes. Sorry :(

-Should be able to sprint backwards

-Can still be assassinated in Armor Lock

-Sprint + melee weapon is hard to counter

-Can't see what ability someone has except for Jetpack or Armor Lock if you're behind them.

with camo, having you not show up on the radar is a huge advantage, but with radar jammer, someone knows to be on the lookout for someone invisible. take out radar jammer all together and just make it so the player doesnt show up on radar when he is camoed

I think that active camo needs tuning down a little with the radar jammer.

Unofficial Thread Killer/Combo-breaker.

Armor Abilities have added a new dynamic to the game, one which I am learning quickly and loving immensely. Keep up the good work Bungie!

On a related note, however, my Sprinting ability randomly switches off at times when I'm just getting started. I get practically 5 feet further, but am down a little in the AA bar. Also, I have become quite a fan of Jetpacks on Swordbase, but there's an awkward claw required to use it with Bumper Jumper. It's not killing me, really, but a change up on the control scheme could make it more natural to use.

Active Camo is overpowered compared to all other AAs. You can spend almost the entire game in the camo mode because the recharge rate is really fast. Camping with shotgun/sword/hammer around corners with the camo is completely unfair and no possible way to counter it.

All AA's feel much weaker than what I had anticipated. I was worried it would break the game but they ended up perfect and adding so much I could cry tears of joy.
