I had no lag by the time I got to play it - it was fine.

Didn't much enjoy the game type though to be honest. I felt that having 3 objectives with only three players on that team a bit too much of a stretch. You either end up with a 3 on 1 which is pointless, or a one on one which is boring.

I hate to keep going on about BFBC2 but squad rush is much more fun - one objective per defending team makes for more interesting battles.

This is probably known already, but I feel that if this map were to be used for other gametypes, the side the elites spawn on should be more utilized, cause it's pretty cool.

I REALLY like this gametype.
I love the generator controls,(cooldown time and stuff) I especcially like the inoperative controls when the generator gets too damaged. The "oh crap" factor was really fun.
Im sure they'll fine tune the net code to get crisper contols before the launch.

Love the gametype. A few suggestions after playing lots of matches:

1. Like the 3v3. But the Elites shouldn't be able to Spawn so close to the generators.
2. The lock-down time is a bit too long and the time to cool off in between should be longer. Once the last generator is left it spends too much time in lock-down mode. As an Elite you have to just hang around waiting for it too unlock while all three Spartans guard what is usually B.
4. Have the ability to turn on a shield door into a generator area instead of locking it down. Would make the route to a generator cutoff, changing strategy.
3. Have two indoors and one outdoors?
4. Have a 6v6 match with each team having it's own generators.
5. Make each generator a point instead of all or nothing to win a round.

I love this game, it was great. 3v3 was great for it maybe they can use it in BTB where there is more of the generators. I did not have lag when i was playing.

Things i run into.
1. The weapon drop always happen to kill me at the first. I love the idea were it droped random spots but it happens always to find me and kill me.
2. Maybe they need the generator cool down longer because it came back really fast and they lock it back up by the time i get there.
3.When the generator had low life it should come back to life a lot faster then they have it now.
4. Make the generator into points. It happens to me all the time that i would lose a player and we would win but since the player quit i would not have a lot of points and lose instead of a tie.

Everything else is looking very great. It was a very fun Beta. I enjoyed everything you guys did so far and i can not wait until the real deal! ALWAYS LOVE BUNGIE.

I only played Network Test 1 two times because it was laggy. But not regular lag, it was like loading lag. It reminded me of the lag when I played Halo 3 campaign online, I push a to jump and my guy jumps 1 second later, not right when I push the button. I think the generator defense is a fun gametype though

I like generator defense a lot but I only dislike one thing and that is the grenade launcher class but that is more of a weapon dislike then a gametype problem, as with invasion I feel the grenade launcher should have ammo reduced and considered a power weapon.

i think that they should give the elites a chance to do damage to the generators cuz one game when it was my turn to destroy the generators, a guy hid behind one with a shotgun and locked it every time the shields went down so no elite had a single chance of doing any damage to the thing. i think that the generators should have a longish shield cool down until they can lock it again so the elites get a chance to destroy generators instead of being pwnd by some noob with a shotgun locking it. the spartans have to defend it not be a coward and hide behind them.

ive had the same problem to hartley. my guy jump one second later, i shoot 1 second later. everything happens on second later. its also happened in halo 3 too.

In the testosterone filled thrawls of the internet, there is no middle ground and no cooperation. You have to either love something or hate it.

The lag has gradually gotten better I'll admit, I played a few games on the last day before the Beta ended and it was genuinely fun.

The delay however is still there and it irritates the hell out of me.

besides the occasional lag plagued games and numerous quitters, this was a really fun gametype!! it has a strategic feel beyond the typical objective playlists.

I do like the generator defense playlist and along with invasion are my most liked playlists.

Some improvements that could be made just to balance the generators... The elites have the HUGE advantage of active camo which is a all-beater against spartans when used correctly. But if a spartan is in the right place at the rite time there is only a few seconds of damage an elite can do. To balance this the generators should have a longer cooldown time but larger health when unlocked.

OR When in lockdown a generator might not be invincible but have a higher damage resistance.

Either way works well =]

The lag was so bad when I played it I stopped and did not like to try the idea anymore.

BUT logically thinking about it... I feel like this gametype is way too off-balanced. Really, there are so many different ways to destroy them that it just feels like overtime people will destroy them almost every single time and the gametype will be dumb and disliked.

I am not for having this in the real game BUT I would not be bothered if it was. More gametypes, more players to enjoy, I get it.

BUT if it causes any problems other than not many people liking it, then it should NOT go in the game.

Aside from the obvious lag, the generator locking just ticked me off. As an elite, the spartans kept locking the generator's constantly. Like, all of them. There wasn't one we could attack. I think you should only be able to lock so many at one time.

They may have not all been locked at the same time, but it was kind of hard to tell.

As a spartan, I had trouble locking the generators when they were surrounded by dropped weapons. :P

Fun game type, love killing dirty elites as they rush all crazy like uphill. Don't like small teams. 5v5 would make this game type epic win. Also probably 6 minute rounds (if kept in the current form).

In general about SvE games: Elites with PP means lots of PP beatdowns. That's not fun for Spartans. Don't get my wrong, I love the new PP, it makes people dead. Fast. But as a starting weapon? nty.

This gametype was hit and miss with me. I feel that the idea is good but the way the gametype is played isn't. I don't know what it is but something really bugger me about it. It was wierd playing as a three too. Halo to me has always been lone wolf, double, 4v4 or 8v8 why suddenly have 3v3? The one thing I strongly believe will inprove this gametype is only have one generator to defend/attack at a time. Make the the action more intense as everyone will be in one place rather than sneaking around using hit and run tactics to draw players in.

The Bridge is the closest spawn the Elites should have.

The Generators need a longer cool down time.

The Generators need to take more damage from certain weapons, for example, pummeling the Generators is more effective than shooting rockets at them.

Generator defence is ok but the main problem with it is the lag and the fact that Spartans get extra wepons including the wepons they start of with

It's great fun, I loved playing it. On the other hand, there were some things I disliked, mostly that the Spartans could lockdown the generators too quickly, it should be at least a 5-10 second gap.

Also, I'm not so sure about the network testing, it made me lag and jump a lot, which I didn't like.

my impressions of this new network is bleak i feel like aswell bungie should replace people who leave games(find a new player to join ) instead of just leave a blank space

The game mode itself was a lot of fun to play, the minor lag issues were less apparent in the games I was playing than in the few posts I've read. Then again I had got hooked on it and was playing many games and for the most part it coincided with players either dropping out or getting disconnected from the servers. I did enjoy the team effort that had to be put in and have seen the difference between a team working together and everyone going everywhere, so I feel the settings are spot on because a team working around campers at the base or being the camper is one of the many strategic elements that can be employed in a match and with the various respawn points you can get back to the action fairly quick without hassle. When I read this mode may not make the cut for the retail version I was really hoping to hear otherwise because this has become one of my favorites. I just want to play it on a few more stages, so hopefully it stays.
